My Australia Bucket List

My Australia Bucket List- Celebration du Jour | thecelebrationdujour.comWhat would a once-in-a-lifetime experience be without a bucket list? Today I’m sharing some of the things I hope to accomplish during my time in the land down under.

Due to the nature of my trip and not knowing who I will meet or where I be able get a job, it doesn’t make sense to plan a itinerary for Australia. My life will simply be too unpredictable. Considering I am normally such a planner, this is actually quite refreshing for me. However, I thought it would be good to have a few specific things that I would like to see or do while I’m there, since there are so many amazing and rare opportunities. Since my time in Australia is finite, I figured I might as well consider my list of to-do’s a “bucket list.”

These are some things I’ve thought up before I even arrive in Australia, but it is certainly not a finished list! I’m sure once I spend some time there, my list of must-do’s will keep growing. Check back to see what I check off and what I add! Without further ado…

My Australia Bucket List

  1. Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.
  2. Hug a koala.
  3. Become a coffee snob in Melbourne.
  4. Learn to surf.
  5. Sail the Whitsunday Islands.
  6. Try Vegemite
  7. Bondi to Coogee coastal walk.
  8. Learn a new skill.
  9. Box a kangaroo. Or just feed one. See this post about my experience meeting the kangaroos at the Healesville Sanctuary.
  10. Learn Aussie slang and use it without getting laughed at.
  11. Visit Uluru.
  12. Pose in front of at least three “big” things.
  13. Drive the Great Ocean Road. You can read about my two-day road trip here.
  14. Become a “regular” somewhere.
  15. Try kangaroo.

Is there anything else you think is completely necessary in Australia? Let me know!
