The blistering cold and dry air can be damaging to your skin and hair. Incorporating these winter essentials into your daily beauty routine can ensure protection against the winter elements!
The key to surviving the winter, beautifully, is to moisturize. And I mean really moisturizes. The dry, indoor air and warm, steamy showers may shield you from the cold weather, but it can be harsh to your body. Using these products will help protect against drying as well as keep you glowing. Trust me, I use these products and especially love them during this time of the year! Even better, most of these products you can pick-up at your local drugstore.
Softsoap Body Butter Scrub Coconut
We all know that coconut oil has moisturizing properties. What’s even better about this coconut butter body scrub is that it has mini exfoliating beads. These beads gently exfoliate your skin while the coconut butter moisturizes, leaving your skin soft and glowing in the middle of January.
Jergens Shea Butter Moisturizer
Shea butter is also commonly known amongst other moisturizers. After you exfoliate and get out of the shower, lather this shea butter all over yourself from head to toe. And I literally mean “to toe.” Here’s a tip, lather your feet then but warm socks on to lock in the moisture and leave your feet feeling soft.
Most hair ties tug, pull, crease, and even break your hair. Think about what those hair ties could do to your hair in the winter… yikes! These “no-tug” hair ties are gentle on your hair and also look fashionable on your wrists.
Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Repair Cream
Other than your face and hair, your hands gets the most abuse during this time of the year. All that hand washing may be killing germs, but it’s rough on your dry hands as well. The last thing you want to do is shake hands with someone, or worse, be holding hands with someone with cracked, dry hands (been there, done that… very embarrassing). Just like the body lotion, this repair cream is made with shea butter to ensure soft and dainty hands. Lather this on after washing hands or as needed.
A Glowing Face
Mary Kay TimeWise Age-Fighting Moisturizer
The reason I love this facial lotion the most is because it does it’s job without being overly greasy. It also contains anti-aging properties that’ll keep me looking young forever (or at least slow the process). Not only does this protect my face from dryness, but also from the winter rays. Yes, this moisturizer also contains SPF 15. Unlike the other products, this incredible facial moisturizer cannot be found in your local drugstores. If you know a Mary Kay consultant, place your order now. If not, we can introduce you to one (just send an email).
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
If you’re strictly going for lip protection, then Burt’s your man. Not only is this lip balm “100% natural beeswax,” but moistens and protects your lips. Plain and simple, this is my favorite lip balm.
Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm, Peach Kiss
Now if you want a little tint in your lip balm, Baby Lips is the way to go. This too softens your lips as well shields them from those winter rays. Baby Lips comes in different colors. There is also a “no tint” option. My favorite is Peach Kiss. The color is subtle enough for daily wear, yet fancy enough for lip color.
L’Oréal Paris Infallible 2-Step Lipstick, Boundless Burgundy
This “24-hour triple action” lipstick is the best lip color for a night out on the town. First you apply the color, then you apply the “Hyaluronic Gel balm.” These two steps will seal the color to your lips as well as keep them hydrated, all in 24 hours.
The key to surviving during this cold time of the year is keeping moisturized. Adding these moisture-enhancing products to your life will help you survive this winter flawlessly!
